15 forests with total area of 32,783㎡ (as of April 1, 2021) are distributed around the Sayama hills except Mikajima and Yamaguchi area. We think conserving forests at the urbanized region around the Sayama hills is also important to protect forest and trsditional village landscape.


Forest No. 12 surrounded by build up area is worse to conserve because it is such an expansive forest that located in the urban area.

Forest No. 14 surrounded by build up area is the smallest forest of the 24 but the land itself is valuable place in terms of conserving the forest and land condition.

Forest No. 17 is located at the river side which is the boarder of Tokyo Metropolis and Saitama Prefecture.

Forest No. 40 is the first trust land that we have taken at City of Higashiyamato, Tokyo Metropolis The forest is located at the south side of Lake Tama and many of cycle paths and nature trails are developed around this area.

The forest area No. 42 is closed due to no access road to its destination.

The forest area is located near the central area of Kotesashi region and direct distance in straight line from Kotesashi station is approx. 700m. It is worth to protect the forest from the urbanization.
